Year 10 Mentoring Breakfast
The first Year 10 Mentoring breakfast will take place on Wednesday 11th March from 7am. With the theme of 'Broadening Your Horizons' students will hear from past CGGS students who benefited from getting involved in school co-curricular and other activities; and how this helped them develop skills such as leadership, organisational, time management and interpersonal skills.
Welcome back girls to a very busy Term 1! I hope you all use the resources of this fantastic website regularly. It is now INTERACTIVE on the screen outside the Careers Office!
New Work Order/Enterprise Skills
FYA in their new report New Work Order Report is calling for a national enterprise skills strategy to ensure young people are prepared for the economy of the future and equipped with the tools to drive economic and social progress. Enterprise skills are transferrable across different jobs and are a more powerful predictor of long-term job success and performance than technical knowledge. They include communication, project management, fnancial literacy, digital literacy and the ability to critically assess and analyse information, be creative and innovate.

Students in Year 12 interested in medicine ( & some dentistry courses) will need to sit the compulsory UCAT (examination) when applying for one of the above career choices. Please check the UCAT website UCAT for a list of courses that require this test.

ANU Tuckwell Scholarships 2021
Australian National University (ANU) launched the Tuckwell Scholarship Program in 2013. Receiving a Tuckwell Scholarship – valued at over $21,000 per year for the length of an undergraduate degree - is not just about a students’ intellect. It is also about their desire and determination to use their natural abilities to realise their full potential so that they can make a difference in the world. All up one could say, this is no ordinary scholarship! Applications for current Year 12 students open on March 4, 2020 and close at 3pm, March 25, 2020.
