Year 11 Career Interviews

Year 11 students recently completed career interviews with Mrs Trish Dolan, Careers Counsellor. The aim of this meeting was to see how our Year 11 students are journeying, check any 2021 Year 12 changes, explore their post Year 12 options and ensure they know where to access ALL the great school career resources.

Introduction to 2021 Work Experience

Year 9 students will shortly be introduced to the 2021 work experience program at CGGS. Building on the extremely valuable two-day conference 'Introduction to the World of Work' recently held online, the work experience program helps students explore, develop and refine career aspirations.The work experience dates for 2021 are Monday 7th June to Friday 11th June.

Year 9 Occupational Health & Safety

As part of preparation for the 2021 work experience program AND the upcoming service learning week, students will undertake the Occupational Health & Safety program 'safe@work'. This is designed to improve their knowledge of occupational health and safety before they go to a workplace, investigate hazards and laws and understand employee/employer responsibilities.

Year 10 & 11 Exams

Results, ATARS & Offers

Mrs Trish Dolan, Careers Counsellor, will be available at school on Wednesday 30th December & Thursday 31st December for a discussion re: results, ATARS and change of preference.

Change of preference closes Monday 4th January @ 12 noon.

New Work Order/Enterprise Skills

FYA in their report New Work Order Report is calling for a national enterprise skills strategy to ensure young people are prepared for the economy of the future and equipped with the tools to drive economic and social progress. Enterprise skills are transferrable across different jobs and are a more powerful predictor of long-term job success and performance than technical knowledge. They include communication, project management, financial literacy, digital literacy and the ability to critically assess and analyse information, be creative and innovate.
